This issue was posted on the other forum, but I wanted to know if FFR is aware of it and what the recommended solution is.

Fuel Filler Neck - MK4 (http://www.ffcars.com/forums/17-factory-five-roadsters/285388-fuel-filler-neck-mk4.html#post2609880)

To summarize: The steel filler neck hits the frame of the car and it contacts enough to alter the angle that the steel neck fits into the tank.

A couple options have been proposed, but adding spacers to the fuel tank mounts and hammering the filler neck are not optimal solutions in my opinion. They will work, but this should probably be addressed on future kits as well.

I haven't installed the filler neck rubber gasket yet, but I noticed a couple weeks ago that it is going to be an issue. I can take a couple quick pictures if it will help.

Looks like they posted my previous answer to this one in the thread. =)

It is close but it sould not touch. If it does touch you can probably move the 3/4" tube with a rubber mallet. It will only need to be moved a very small amount.

You do not hit the filler neck! Just the 3/4" tube on the frame.

I encountered the same issue and while not optimal, spacers between the 3/4" tube and tank did the trick.

OK, I was hoping for a better solution than "hit it with a hammer and bend the frame". :(

I might try the spacer solution first (although I really don't like the tank hanging lower than it already does either).

oh well. hope they address it going forward.

I wasn't in favor of taking out the persuader and bending the tube.

Did you flatten the edges on the tank? If so, it adds to the issue.
