Picked up some K772 Moogs to replace my FFR ball joints.
I noticed these are a bit shorter however thread in significantly easier than the FFR ones removed. I noticed these boots will not fit as the Mevotech ones did which had a larger shoulder allowing the boot to slip into place where the Moogs do not. The Moogs when installed and suspension at full drop had the boot sitting open at the top inside which I am not a fan of as the Mevotechs did not do this.

I’ve seen several posts showing the Howe Racing 22320s are superior functionally. Not sure I need or would notice that. Noting a much different price point however, can anyone tell me if the Howes or any other brand have the boot fitting like the Mevotech did, without the fitment issues so many experienced while threading the new Mevotechs in?
Are the Howes really worth the $?
Along with Moog I checked Spicer but they also had a poorly fitting boot.

Thanks in advance guys.

I helped a buddy install the Howes balljoints, biggest waste of time & money he ever spent on his car. They did not make it handle better, steer better or ride better. Just replace the balljoint covers.

The purpose of the boot is to keep moisture and grime out but they not secured to the joint; they have to be able to move and rotate. When the spindle is installed and the chassis at ride height it will compress the boot and keep it against the joint.

Ball joint boots are inexpensive. Just replace the boot if there is nothing wrong with the ball joint. https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/5.13102?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4L67BhDUARIsADWrl7E8sQLfrLxsJGgodKrv JrEcDX5yr4LeHGmJCUwoVrjR99_q-Mqz76waAjj_EALw_wcB

Looks like the castle nut is 80-110ft/lbs.
Is there a torque spec on the ball joint into the UCA?
I’m not seeing it.

Many people will do a short tack weld one of the points between the flats on the BJ to the sleeve it is screwed into. Idea is to make it enough to hold but also easy enough to cut through w/ a cutoff wheel.

I don't have a welder so I drilled a 1/16 hole near the flat on the ball joint and used a roll pin to prevent the ball joint from coming loose.

Moog makes a great product. I have sold their stuff for years. If you notice it might say " Problem Solver" on the part. If it does Moog has addressed issues with the industry design so they fit and function better.
