Well I took advantage of the sale and ordered the coupe yesterday! Got the performace package on the base kit with 17" Halibrands and powder coat. Should I tell the wife ? Nay!

Congrats. I just ordered mine two weeks ago as well. When are you taking delivery? I think you should surprise her.

Congratulations! And just for the record I officially hate you now!

Last summer at LCS two other roadster owners and myself were talking with Dave Smith while giving the FFR demo Coupe a thorough going over. All three of us are just dying to do a Coupe next so I asked Dave if he'd cut us a deal if we all placed an order that day. He agreed until I told him that one of the conditions was that he was going to have to call our wives to break the news. He replied "I don't want to make a sale that bad!" :)

Welcome to both of you. My wife has tolerated the build pretty good so far. I have lost the bet about how much I would spend though..... :)

Bill & JC,

Raise your right hand and say after me,

"I (State your name), do swear/affirm, that upon acceptance of this "Revered Coupe Jacket", will willingly subject myself to all manner of frustration and abrasion that my FFR Type 65 will provide. I further pledge that any and all fellow Coupe builders will have free reign in using the cash available in my wallet as they see fit to improve my build plan. I will not look down upon our fellow Roadster builders, but rather take pity on those not talented enough to build a race car with a roof, So Help Me God!"

It is my pleasure to present you with the "Revered Coupe Jacket", Here's your sign!!

I have $20.00 CASH for the roadster!! I mean, how can you pass up a deal like that? Heck, I might even be convinced to go as high as $100.00 CASH!! I will be there this weekend to pick it up! ;o-)

Good luck with the build and keep us updated!

I haven't gotten a chance to see these cars (except for mine) in person. So when I went to the Barrett Jackson auction, I was pretty impressed with all the kit car displays. One had a GT40 at one end and a Daytona coupe at the other. They were anchoring a line of roadsters. Of course, the GT40 was pretty awesome with it's "Gurrney bubble" showing just how radical it really is. But the Daytona coupe (blue and white of course) made me tingle when I was up close. That car with it's aerodynamic curves is really hard to appreciate from pictures after you have seen it for real.

It definitely holds it's own in the company of supercars. You are a lucky man!! Have fun. WEK.

Going with the 3 link, looking for a donor, but may consider a crate motor if funds come available. Right now I am just soaking it up and getting the roadster done.

I also ordered a coupe yesterday. I have been wanting to get one for a long time but I had to sell two D Sports Racers before I could take the plunge. I ordered the complete kit, IRS, and of course got the free 17 inch Halibrand style wheels. The scheduled date to be ready to ship is March 10.

Man, I would love to do a Coupe.. The only way it will happen is if I make room in the garage by selling the Roadster. I hate to think about going without an FFR on the road for a year or two, so it hasn't happened so far.

Welcome all, it's just great seeing our coupe family grow so fast. You'll not find a better group to help with your builds and some of us even have ways to help empty the wallet! :-)
