Finally received a very large box with some very nicely welded Aluminum the other day. A nice large 25 Gal fuel tank from the folks at Boyd. The product is very well constructed, light, and I'm happy with it.
Being the "over thinker" that I am, 1 part of the installation is making me scratch my head a bit. The forward mounting points are pretty straight forward, but I got to thinking about the rear (vertical) mounting. I'm worried about the same thing that everyone does the "Kleiner mod" for. How to access the mounting hardware after the body is on. I suppose I could create access panels like those that exist for the fuel pump etc....
Would anyone have concerns about Rivnuts into that frame member to support and be able to bolt in/unbolt the tank from the bottom only?
Yes, I realize that the odds of ever needing to remove the take are super low - but that's usually when something jumps out in my world that requires the long odds thing to happen!!
