I got the head lights installed but the trim ring seems like it is not quite fitting correctly. The lower screw that retains the ring to the bucket does not line up with the boss in the bucket, it appears that the trim ring needs to be pushed in about 1/8 inch and would wrap around the edge of the bucket. But, seems like a tight fit and I can not quite get it there. Was wondering about other experiences have been and if I should get out a gentle rubber mallet or possible grind the edge back on the bucket to allow the ring to cover it. Thanks for the input.

I just installed my headlights the other day. I set the top edge of the trim ring on the headlight and then let it swing down into position, and the screw hole lined up with no issue. There should not be any gap between the body and the trim ring, it should sit right on the body.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to know.

I fiddled with this for 2 hours, did not get the same results.

Rubber behind the bucket is visible in this picture, it sticks out about 1/8 past the bucket, and that is what the trim ring touches.

At the bottom, I rotated the trim ring and used the weep hole, which lined up perfectly with the screw boss in the bucket. Got a different screw that had a flat instead of a bevel.

As long as the rubber is high quality and does not split, looks fine.

This is how mine looked. Seems normal if I’m seeing your pic correctly.

Thanks F500guy! I had the same issue and this worked perfectly. But wondering if I should drill a new bottom weephole? FF need to have supplier change the screw hole location..

Could the actual light you used be causing some resistance? Perhaps the lens is slightly thicker around the base? The trim rings were originally designed for a standard seal beam.

Use a #6 screw instead of the #8 I have cracked a few because of this.

Wish I had seen this sooner! I think I cracked one! What are options if one is cracked?

There are two different trim rings out there by Wipac if that is the brand you have? Models S5435 and S5445. The 5435 will be the one with the offset screw hole from the weep holes, the S5445 screw will be inline. Both are also shaped a bit differently, where the 5435 is more spherical in shape and the 5445 is straighter and not tapered as much.

Greg it you were asking me, based on you description, I think I have the 5435 with the offset screw hole. Had it now been offset It would have lined up fine.
