Any thoughts or experiences on axle tube braces while rebuilding the rear end?
There are mixed reviews on this from users locally here. Some guys say they're great and help, others say it unnecessarily adds stress where the axle tubes are better suited to some flex.
I have a set of these axle braces sitting in one of my cabinets from a project that I never used. I did some searching but don't really see anyone using them on the Mk4's. Looks like they fit without any interference.

Is there any value to adding them while I have the rear end out for future-proofing or does will this maybe result in other issues down the road?

Sure did and no one other than Jeff spoke specifically to that question so figured I’d get more traction, no pun intended, to a specific thread on this. Sometimes forums just work that way. We will see :)
