Ready for first go cart drive of my type 65 coupe but need some help with a clutch problem. Have a new coyote and 6 spd. tremac. Wildwood hydraulic clutch. Everything is new. I believe I have the clutch adjusted correctly about 1/8 in free play before the throw out bearing contacts. Here is the problem, On blocks with engine running I can step on the clutch and engage 1st gear or reverse or go through the gears. Wheels are still before I engage then spin normally. On the ground engine running stepping on the clutch I cannot engage 1st gear. Trying to engage the car ties to move forward. I believe I may need a larger clutch master and slave cylinders. I have a 3/4 in master and the slave moves about 1 in fully depressed. Any thoughts or advice would help. Thanks in advance.
Just my opinion: I don't think you need a new master and/or slave cylinder. If you can adjust it, I think you should do that. I believe that you can't get it into gear on the ground because the clutch is not completely disengaged. You need to build a bit more slack into it. When the car is on blocks, you have more play between the all the moving parts (including the wheels). When the wheels are on the ground, you don't have that play. I'd try adjusting things first.

You need less play not more. try adjusting the pedal towards the driver seat to give you some more throw.
