Hi -

I have purchased some Intratrim seats and they will be shipped soon. Is there anything special that I need to do to be able to receive them here in the US? I didn't know if there was some kind of Custom's Paperwork or Bonding needed. I would appreciate any insight you can give me.

Thanks!

The shipper will be responsible for any customs paperwork related to shipping to the US. You may be required to pay duty on the items before they are delivered, but my experience has been that items are usually delivered with no additional cost for things I've had shipped from the UK.

Same answer here. I have been building an Austin Healy Bugeye and have ordered some parts from England and they come without any duty requirements. I assume the supplier took care of this issue.

I think it's pretty common practice or no one would buy from overseas. I have purchased several items for my Triumph motorcycle from the UK and for all intents and purposes, could be coming from across town.

I was going to start a thread about this. My Intatrim order is in customs jail right now. The short answer is no, you should not have to do anything. The problem I am having is someone on that end had a paperwork screwup and the declared value of the shipment did not match the commercial invoice. Both documents should have said 1300 pounds but one was listed in pence. It got flagged and held. The shipper sent the updated paperwork to FedEx and they in turn sent it to US Customs. Problem is now, it has not been released and everyone involved is shrugging their shoulders.

To be honest I am barely holding it together. My entire build plan started from the interior out. I already paid for everything including shipping. Intatrim cannot put a claim against insurance as the the shipment isn't lost. I didn't do anything wrong but I am holding the bag here. The rational me says it's fine, it will get cleared and everything will be fine. But I have no control over the situation and I hate it.

What a perfect storm of fine government management. I think you are correct in the idea it will work out but pretty frustrating none the less. It's interesting, my build plan is similar in that it's going to be very interior focused with the rest of the build coming together around it. Hang in there, hopefully they show soon.

That's sucks. Give it time, I'm sure it will eventually show up. Your seats are going to be SWEET!!

I bought my seats from Intatrim and shipping fee was included in the invoice. I didn't have issues w/ customs and the seats got delivered to my house no problems. Blitzboy54 give it a few more days - I'm sure it'll get sorted eventually (hopefully).
