Anyone able to tell me the dimensions of the sun visor brackets?

Thanks,
-Chris

I am going to start offering a set of visor brackets that mount like my rear view mirror bracket does. They will mount on the top of the windshield frame with channel nuts. This way they can be set anywhere along the windshield and not screw into a predetermined spot. It will also take away the chance of the cracked windshield issue.

A quick suggestion to DWC.. if you're going to make some, please slot one of the 2 holes that go into the windshield. I have an early Mark I and the new brackets are about 1/2 hole off. I will be machining them, but if your're going to be manufacturing them note that the windshield frame holes are not that consistant...

Just an idea..

Agree. I had to get a "special" set of visors from Jason at FFR because the holes drilled in my visors (with brackets attached to windshield and visors) were too close together. The set screw in the visor bracket would not contact the brackets that you screw into the windshield. That is all after I broke my windshield screwing in the visor brackets.

Some now elect to leave them off entirely.

Ralph.

That sounds like a great product and solves a common problem. Pretty much ever car has visors, so if priced right, you should have mass appeal. What is next, something similar for the windwings?

mine extend 5/8 from the windshield frame. This is a good idea and will remove all the drama around taping those small screws in the windshield frame. If the price is right they will easely sell.

Chris

I was planning on purchasing your mirror bracket and making some visor brackets to match.

Having you make them is a much better solution.

Thanks for the great products

Will that work with a roadster with a top? Thanks, WEK.

No not at the same time. Most tops use the channel to mount the front bow for attaching the top so it would be on or the other but you could not do the mirror/sun visor brackets at the same time.

That's too bad. It would be nice if there could be bow fasteners that worked around the other mounts so the bow could be mounted over the whole group of mounts (whatever you had). But the mounts you are fabing are definitely an improvement over the tedious operations in the manual. Thanks, WEK.
