Hello All,
I have a install planning question for those that have used the Breeze seat mounts. Are you all placing the seat mounts on top of a carpeted floor, or have any of you finished them with carpeting on top of the mount? It probably doesn't matter much, because I'd bet the mounts can't really be seen under the seats when finished. Just a curiosity!
Thanks for all of the input from the masters. It really does help!

NO carpet between the two. The plate should be fastened DIRECTLY to the floor. Carpet will reduce the holding power of the rivets, increasing the possibility of the rivets shearing off.

I agree with Rich 100%, but I also added some Grade-8 Bolts on the pan section with fender washers.
I love the brackets because they really make the seating position much better.

I too would agree with Rich. I bolted my set to do the gocart with the sound mat in between the seat and the floor. A few miles of go carting and every bolt was loose due to the compression of the sound mat. Carpet would do the same and rivet would never be tight.

Not adding much to this but I believe the instructions state to not have insulation or carpet between the mount and floor. You can just cut that part of carpet out once you know where the mount needs to be. Mark confirmed as much when I was talking with him about it.

Thanks for the input, everybody. I didn't think about not having anything in between the cockpit floor and the seat mounts. It makes perfect sense, though. I'm not quite ready to install the seats, but this helps me with the planning.

It's not the seat mounting that keeps you in the car in the event of a bad accident or crash. It's the 5-point harness that does that.

And if the seat mount breaks loose, then what? How are you going to be held in tightly if the seats are bouncing around?
