Hi all,

It’s the end of driving season for me, or almost.
Trickle down charger, tank filled up and fuel additive are on the list.
Do you guys jack up your car and take time to clean up the underside at this time of year? Worth it?
Thanks in advance.

Francois

I always change the oil before storing a car. Fill the gas, clean the outside and inside, fuel stabilizer, plug in the battery tender and put the cover on. I don't clean the underside since it just gets dirty again and you can't see it unless the car is on a lift. I do clean the under hood area and frront aluminum that you see when the hood is open. I drive mine as much as i can, did 5 night trips with each car this summer. Each trip was well over 2000kms, lots of fun mountain roads in South/East BC and not lots of traffic.

I’d also consider greasing all your zerk fittings and a quick nut/bolt check

What do you folks do with the tank of storage fuel next season?

I drive the car, the car runs fine with it. In Canada I can get 91 octane with no alcohol in it and I add stabilizer.

I know some of you guys are in really north and cold places but here in Massachusetts no matter the temperature, as long as the roads are clear of ice and snow I get the car out at least once a month. Those 20 degree bursts of speed are Thrilling!

Ya same thing I was thinking, there’s always days when the temp rises. This isn’t a boat.
