A group of the local racers wanted to do a tour of Factory Five. The date that worked out for most was this past Saturday so I set it up with FF and 45 of us treked down to "Mecca" on a unseasonable warm day. The timing worked out so that I was able to drive my newly registered coupe down for the event. It was kind of cool that on it's first time out on public roads I was able to take it back to it's birthplace. Dave Smith, gracious and enthusiastic as always, lead the curious group through the plant. There were no secret views of the new 818 in R&D but more than one told me how impressed they were with whole operation. It looks like a couple might have caught the disease and will be fitted for their straight jackets shortly.

I'm sure the tour was great. If you have ever met Dave Smith, he makes you feel like you have known him for years.
Your car looks great! Maybe the photo you just posted could end up being the picture of the month....... :)

I'm fortunate to live only 40 minutes from Factory Five and I've been on enough tours there that I probably could have done it myself.

I enjoyed the day very much and was impressed with the caliber of club members and their racing/driving backgrounds. Pat, I'll get back to you on the VIR memorial day event and also hope to run my coupe this summer with your boys at Devens. Thanks for bringing the crowd with you. GREAT job on your car!

Dave, great tour, my son and I really enjoyed it. I have already started the mental campaign/brainwashing with my wife. It appears to be working! How long is that sale going? A roadster would look fantastic in my garage next to my GT500. Pat, your car really looks great, fantastic job!

Thanks again,
Mike Miller

Art, 2 questions....First which do you like better? Secondly...which one is faster? Oh, one more question, if you are married...how exactly did you justify the two of them? lol

Thanks everyone. These cars attract a lot of attention. It almost feels illegal to be driving something this capable on the street.

Dave, VIR will be a blast, you won't be disappointed. It's a great event at a fabulous venue. This will be our fourth year there on Memorial Day weekend and it's been bigger and better every time.

Lookng forward to seeing another coupe at Devens. We have a separate class for FFR but we'll all have to work pretty hard to top Jim. He's a beast out on the course. I also working on a special award for the top FFR car at each event.

Mike Miller will be a welcome addition to the "cult". A very talented driver and given some his other rides I'm sure is roadster will be incredible (and fast).
