Hi - unfortunately I have made a mess of my ceramic coated exhausts by getting some plastic material too close to the side pipes when they were hot after a run out - my stupid fault.
I read on some forums that using oven cleaner would work to remove the burnt plastic, but this has made the exhausts look a dull color compared to the rest and has not completely removed the plastic.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove the remaining burnt plastic - I have tried a blade and taken all the large pieces off previously, and return the exhausts to their previous glory.
Any assistance greatly received by a technically incompetent fool!

I know some have just used a polishing compound on a buffer, and they polished up nicely!

I have melted plastic onto ceramic headers. Best way I found was to initially get the pipes hot and scrape off as much as possible as the plastic will be soft. I followed up with a little more srapeing when they cooled down and the remaining small amount burned off overtime. Not sure what to do with the oven cleaner at this point.
