Hi all,
Sold my firebird and bought another Factory Five. Built the Daytona and now time for a roadster. So far I have made it a basic roller so I can roll it up onto the lift for storage.205621205622
My wife would like to drive this one and has no interest in trying to learn stick again. So this one will be an automatic. I have read through the forums and it appears the 6R80 will fit with out too much fuss. The problem is a gen 3 control pack is only set up for the 10 r80. Found a used gen3 from a mustang with only 11,000 miles. Had to pull the trigger. I have read that I can buy a stand alone controller for the 6R80 and run a manual trans control pack to run the coyote. Option 2 is I use the Ford 10r80 control pack and modify the trans tunnel to fit the 10r80.
Either would need a modified driveshaft. Any recommendations on that? Has anyone done the 10r yet? It looks like the frame of the roadster is more like an old school traditional frame car verses the coupes roll cage style design. It looks like modifying the tunnel by enlarging it would not be too difficult on the roadster. All thoughts are welcome.
