So,
I finally am getting the body set, slow learner and have to pull the body 1 more time to trim the short passenger side firewall piece because the passenger side is about 3/4 inch higher from floor to fender, hoping that will close it to 1/2' or less. Everything else on the body looks good, I have clearance past the door jams 1/4 inch both sides. I decided to set the doors to see where they bare at, passenger side looks pretty good and opens closes with almost no trimming. Pushing the rocker panels in/out as recommended for both driver and passenger side does well to line things up
But...There is that pesky driver side door. Here the problem is the door is to far to the rear and I can not adjust to get it any more forward, maxed out the elongated holes in the hinge plate that connects to the door. See pictures below, any recommendations on this issue, past resolutions?
1) Elongate the holes some more but the rear holes may run out of material by the time I elongate then. This would necessitate welding and grinding (better grinder than welder) but could be done.
2) Take back some of the 1/4 inch forward of the striker plate.
3) Heavy door trim
4) Combination of multiple items.
