Finally after years of lurking and dreaming on these forums I ordered, received and building my FFR Roadster! Thanking everyone in advance for the inspiration, knowledge and confidence you have provided me to start a project like this that I have been so wanting to do for many years. I believe I ordered the Factory Five Brochure, DVD and the online roadster build manual in 2016 and have been following the forums ever since. Although this is my first post, I have learned so much and have made great progress on my build so far.

I want to thank Dave Smith and the crew at FFR for an incredible visit to their facility when I drove down to pick up my roadster in person. I highly recommend the visit. Also a big shout out to Ryan Valin of Valins Custom Cars in Sudbury Ontario Canada who has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth delivery of the balance of the items needed to build a complete roadster kit. In Canada we cannot order a complete roadster kit because of rules around importing an entire car in parts, in any event Ryan and FFR made the process very easy.

Being a Dream build I am not using any donor parts and I joke with my son who is a mechanic that his tools will be dirtier than the parts going on this project. As for the roadster I purchased the frame with the IRS suspension including the Ford Racing center section, spindles and hubs. Willwood brakes, pedal box and chrome everything. As for the engine, I purchased a Ford SB 347 Stroker crate engine with complete Holley Sniper2 EFI and fuel delivery system with a Tremec TKX 5 speed transmission built by Canadian Crate Engines (CCE) in Burnaby British Columbia, Canada. The Engine has all the Cobra tin and oval air cleaner. On the Dyno it produced 429HP which I think will more than scare the pants off me if I'm not careful. Another shout out to Rob Borden of CCE who was awesome to deal with all my questions and made for a great experience and end product.

Been loving every minute of my build and wanted to share my current progress. I will possibly start a build thread and play catch up to where I am today, Here are some pics.

Not to diminish or denigrate this forum in any way, there's a Factory Five Ontario Facebook page too.

Thanks Higgy and Earl for the comments. Was aware of the FFR Ontario Facebook site as well as other roadster related on Facebook, just not a huge user of social media for many reasons. The community that FFR has built on these forums with people like yourself and others are the real draw to building a replica car. I will most likely spend more time on the FFR Regional Canadian forum in the future as most posting on there are closer to home.

Was aware of the FFR Ontario Facebook site....

Nick

I use both platforms, each has it's place.

I like the order and searchability of forums and the quality of members/responses here.

I like the the immediacy and specificity of Facebook and it's ability to connect me with nearby enthusiasts.
