E-brake

I have MkIV 7622. When I took my initial inventory, I came up short the spring in the e-brake handle set. I called a tech and was told that my style doesn't have a spring. Now as I prepare to assemble it, all three sets of instructions I received with the kit shows a spring. I can't see how the release button can function without a spring to set it out. Am I just getting feeble or are there two different assemblies. Thanks Nick Chelenza, Lawton, OK

Nick,

The newer style E-brake assembly that you have to put together has a small spring. The OEM ford mustang handle (old style) does not have to be assembled. It probably already has a spring in the button.

I can have a spring mailed out to you. I will write up a missing in kit for you.
