Hey guys
I am running some new nickel-copper brake lines and wondered thoughts on the gravel guards.
I see some guys use it, many don’t.
Thoughts?

Everyone that doesn't have them will tell you they're not needed, and everyone that has them will tell you that they're good peace of mind. :p

I did it on my coupe because it just looks better. Not a single line is anywhere near danger on the coupe. Can’t speak for the roadster.

No, not needed. Almost 20 yrs on the road and never a mark on any line.

Had it on my first build because I thought it looked better. Haven't used it since. Not needed IMO but I'm the last one to criticize extra work just because I think it looks good.

Not necessary in my opinion but if it makes you feel good go for it!

Mine were used to make my sloppy bends look a little better! :D
I used it because it came with my tubing. There is one spot on my lines that I felt needed protection based on the condition of the coated metal in that area, and that is where my rear line comes out under the footbox. It seemed pretty exposed to road grit, so I created a "skid plate" shield for that spot.

I liked the look and the extra protection from the types of road junk around here. Not necessary for sure but me likey.
Stuff was inexpensive so I did the rear brake and both fuel lines.
