Received the MK4 kit last year (Sept 2023). Currently a rolling chassis, sounds sooo sweet. Getting ready to start on the body after 4 wheel alignment. It's been a great project and can't wait to finish it up. Question for the Roadster builders, has anyone painted the underbody prior to putting on? I'd like to paint it a satin black. Everything else is painted and clean.

Hi Harry, lots of builders finish the underside of the body. There is a thread on this forum titled "Wheel Well Liner" discussing this topic. It was started a couple of weeks ago. I used the Duplicolor product purchased at I believe Advance Auto Parts. I just turned the body upside down in my back yard and used a brush and small roller
and put on 2 coats.

Any issues getting the side vents to adhere to the paint then?

I know some painters recommend leaving an untreated border around all edges, I didn't and my painter didn't mention any problem.

Can I ask a quick question, how did you align the body once on the chassis? The instructions are pretty vague, thought maybe there was an easier way. I did bolt the rear (quick jacks) as it states.

Has anyone had any issues with the Moser Rear End leaking gear lube? Mines leaking, have not even hit the road yet. I sent an email with a picture to FFR, waiting on what they will do. Just one pain to drain fluid, clean up housing and reseal the cover.

Got a Quick reply from FFR, seems it's my problem to fix with no repercussions for anyone else. Gotta love it.
