Maybe a dumb question but I am just starting. I have pulled the body off my new 289 kit and set it aside for later while I build the running chassis. I will be for sure looking to work on the body when I get stalled or frustrated on the chassis. Every edge is square. What edge profile should I be working to establish for the look and the longevity of the paint and car?

If you go to the FFR web site you can find instructional videos. If you have not seen them I strongly recommend them. I watched them three times as well as several You Tube builds. The last three videos shows them working on the doors, deck lid, and hood. They discuss the edge shaping. It would be the same for the body as the body panels.
Happy trails

A couple of licks with 150 on a soft block will take the sharp point off of the edges. Beyond that the accumulation of multiple coats of high build polyester, urethane primer surfacer, base and clear will create a radius. Regarding those FFR videos; take them with a grain of salt.

Yes, I put salt on everything.
