I hit a major milestone today! I have a gen 1 coyote with a stock computer with pats deleted, power by the hour harness and finishing up installing the north racecar air condition. I was able to get it fired up right away with no issues! While the engine was out I replaced the spark plugs, fuel injectors and made sure to purge the air out of the fuel rail. It got up to temp, the fan kicked on and cooled back down right away. No leaks from the hydraulic clutch, brakes or coolant. I need to shave some more off the rear brake calipers because they are rubbing the wheel....13in rotors with a 17 in wheel isnt ideal but another 1/16th and should be good.

Congratulations, I also have a gen 1. The wiring is about 50% complete. Finishing up clutch, dash and trunk.
Can I use your wisdom when I jump back on the wiring for my first start?

Thanks,
Jeff

I got my motor from thepartsfarm and it came with with the computer and all the wiring. I decided to go with the power by the hour fuse box and harness rather than dieting the wires they sent. It was pretty straight forward to splice the fuel pump wire and fan wire, which was pretty much it. The power by the hour yellow lead goes to the ron francis orange wire and the blue goes to blue. I wired a clutch switch bypass so it can be started with the clutch engaged or flip a toggle switch to start without. All he leads are labled so was easy enough to figure out. Since my engine was from a salvaged wreck, i replaced the spark plugs and fuel injectors. Also did the flywheel and clutch all new for the tkx mount rather than modify a mt82. Power by the hour support is fantastic if you go that way.

Which harness did you get from PBH? The body harness?

I got the body harness, part PCP-1116. The engine came with the stock harness from the front to back of the car. The obd2 port was on a second harness and rather than trying to cut all of it back, the PBH harness made it plug and play. Had the wires to go to the clutch switch, fan, fuel pump, obd2 port and ignition. the fuse box is tiny which is nice for the saving space also. I spliced the fuel pump wire as described in the instructions, spliced the fan wire into ron francis wire near the plug, and there was even a blunt lead wire for the tachometer so didnt have to tap into a coil wire. If I got a crate engine I would have probably gone with the ford performance pack setup but I have no complaints with PBH.

Thanks for taking time to write this up. Really helpful info. Also great peace of mind if my controls pack ever dies.

Cheers,
