Greetings Forum Folk!
I'm fitting the doors now. The RH is done and I'll be starting the LH tomorrow. I neeed some input on the latches. I have the FFR new style latches assembled but not yet installed and they seem pretty good. I'm concidering the Breeze latches. I did a forum search and found a few posts about the Breeze latches and found one with very good pics. I see how they are installed and they seem to look OK, though the new FFR ones look a bit better.
Can I get some feedback on the reliability and funtionality of the new MK4 FFR latches. Also the same for the Breeze latches. I can see by the way they are mounted it would be one or the other, completly different mounting. If I install the FFR is it possible to change to the Breeze later? Any other comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Allyn

I thought about the Breeze bear claw latches but the new style latches from Factory Five came out about the time I got my kit so I used them. No complaints, they look nice and function fine.

I have the new FFR latches and I like them. I was one of the few who had to "convert" my latch tabs from the old style to the new style. I'm not sure what the tabs look like on the newer chassis but I wasn't happy with the FFR "fix" for this issue.

My only issue with these latches is there seems to be a tiny rattle in the doors but I think that can be fixed by adding some rubber to the latch tab. I'm going to start with some shrink tubing first.

Do you have weatherstrip on the doors? If not that may stop the rattle.

Thanks Jeff
I was just wondering what kind of door weather stripping I would use for the doors. I'll wonder no more!!

And it applies to the doors, not the body. Same seal for the hood. Use the FFR supplied trunk bulb seal.

Hi Jeff. Yes, I have weather strip on the doors (Ken put them on when he did my paint). I think I just need a little more adjustment.

AAARRRRGGGG! I just ordered the seal for the doors. Now to order more for the hood! Because I'm so cheap I always want to buy several items from McMaster Carr so I dont have to pay shipping on a $6.87 order. So I save $10 bucks on shipping and order $50 worth of stuff I dont need!
Yup Trunk seal already on.
