I actually sold my FFR Cobra after 18 years and 44k miles of smiles. However, FFmetal is still going strong and providing you with quality parts to make your Cobra just a bit cooler.

Here's what I can do for you:

Battery Box: This mounts the battery in back where it should be. These cars need as much weight in the rear as you can get. It also gets the battery out of the way and out of sight. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, it makes the battery hard to remove. Sure, it's a bit more effort, but if you only have to do every 5-7 years, who cares? With a helper to push from the bottom, it's actually pretty easy.

Firewall Forward: This moves the firewall forward 1.5" to give you more room for a heater and/or a glovebox, or electronics. Made with .090" thick aluminum, it's super stiff and sturdy.

Thicker Firewall: Made with the same .090" aluminum, it's a direct replacement for the stock piece, just way more sturdy (for mounting mechanical throttle linkages).

Tunnel Top: Same dimensions as the stock piece but made from .060" aluminum and NO HOLES. If you're not using the old stock T5 transmission, the stock piece's shifter hole is going to be in the wrong place.

Fat Tire F-Panels: If you're planning to run tires wider than 245s, these give you more room for all that rubber.

Review Mirror Bracket: Get that mirror off of the dash and up on the windshield frame with our polished aluminum mount.

Take a look at www.ffmetal.com (https://www.ffmetal.com/). Everything is in stock and ready to ship out.

I have the firewall forward and the tunnel top. Both are excellent!

Same here. Just finished wiring up my build (with heater and glovebox) and would never want to use the stock firewall. The extra space behind the dash and routing the wires down instead of sticking into the engine bay is so much cleaner looking. I also mounted a mechanical linkage to the firewall and it holds it well without flexing. Definitely a piece I recommend to everyone.

Also have the blank trans tunnel as I went with the mid shift TKX. Love it.

Okay: 'JMD' -- you mention heater & glove box: exactly what I want to do.
I was thinking I needed to move the firewall more like 2" forward... were you using the FFR heater hardware?

And, I'm having BluePrint engines deliver my TKX with the mid-shift (or forward shift, whatever the correct name is).
Sounds like I should go with the tunnel cover option from FFMetal, too, yes?
Will be checking out your build thread. Just got my 'complete kit' July 21st... haven't started a build thread.

Is there a thicker firewall panel available for the MK5 yet?

I received my MK5 in Feb/March (‘25) timeframe. I reached out to a couple of vendors including FFMetal. I believe he is actively working to bring new products to the market. The Firewall forward mod has some unique challenges with the MK5 configuration. I have not heard back and I have chosen to continue forward with my build, but I do think he will be bringing some new products to the market. It will likely require some adjustments to how the firewall and foot boxes meet up. Keep an eye open as he has some nice products.

I would just be looking for the thicker standard firewall. I am not using heater, AC, or anything requiring the firewall forward mod.
Tango, love your build.

Nothing shameless about it. I have used your firewall and tunnel top on 2 builds. Significant improvement over the kit parts at a very reasonable price. I appreciate your work.
