Anyone know who has stock on bulb seal around the engine bay, doors and the one used around the trunk?
Some of mine is wearing a bit and I’m planning a paint job in the near future.
Seems the usual places I’m pointed towards is stocked out
Thanks guys

I’ve gotten it from McMaster Carr and Amazon. The McMaster stuff is better quality.

Thanks TTimmy
Any chance you could post part numbers?
Not sure how old (compressed) mine is and mine dimensionally doesn’t seem to match anything available.

G'day Jeff,
I didn't realise that bulb seal should be put on the doors. Don't suppose you have a photo or two of the lay out?
Cheers,
Nige.

The D seal from Breeze looks real good on the hood, doors and trunk. You need about 34 feet to do all the car. I used it and it looks good in my opinion. Just another option….

If you need something special, or just something for your DD, then I suggest Steele Rubber. Their on-line catalog: https://d163axztg8am2h.cloudfront.net/static/doc/b5/19/0533b6acd29005a2d34992a9aaab.pdf

Hi Nigel!
Bulb seal isn't the correct term...it's self adhesive "D" seal. Not a great photo but here it is on the door:

https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=203475&d=1725197912
And around the perimeter of the hood opening:

I disagree with Rich (which doesn't happen often) and greatly prefer the push on bulb for the trunk opening rather than the "D"

It's OK Jeff, I forgive you. I could never keep the push on seal in place due the varying thickness and shape of the trunk edge on the body. If you can keep it in place it will work good, and it gives a nice look to the fiberglass edge.

Rich,
The McMaster-Carr number that I provided in post #4 has a wider channel which installs easier and stays inn place better. :)

Hey Jeff,
I read in another post that you have quite a bit on your plate at the moment, so thankyou for the response, it's above and beyond.
I was totally unaware of D profile seal being fitted to the doors. I have plenty of D type kicking about after doing the hood. Had wanted to try it on the doors, but was concerned about it causing too much friction etc. Will give it a go tomorrow.

Nige

I did my hood opening a little different, more like Ken Pike does it.

The large "D" seal is McMaster 93085K14 the same as Jeff uses.
The small "D" seal is McMaster 93085K67.
Haven't thought about the doors, that's interesting.

After Tony, with a small amount of input from me, ;) reworked the trunk lip, same width and thickness all the way around, I may just give that a try.
