Power steering cooler selection

My understanding is it's good insurance to run a power steering cooler on these. I have the standard FFR power rack for a SBF. Engine has a Billet Specialities tru-track. I think it's a GM type 2 pump if it matters. Just wondering what others have done as far as type and placement.

I've read a lot of debate about the value on a street car. I don't think anyone debates their value on a track car. Here is where I put mine on a Gen 2 coupe. I'd have to look at the receipts but I recall the cooler being made by an Australian manufacturer. Those are 6AN lines and fittings from Breeze. Happy to look through my receipts; I think the cooler came from Summit and is marketed as a transmission cooler. Hope this helps.

My go to on several builds has been the Derale Compact Fluid Cooler 13310. Has -6AN connections and an easy add in the return line to the pump. There are certainly other options. But this one is relatively cheap, easy to install, and gives some insurance even for a street driven build.

Thanks for the input. I'll check these out. My engine package came with lines/fittings and reservoir, but I haven't started playing with placement and routing yet. Hopefully I can use all, or most of what they sent.

I used a Mishimoto Oil cooler in the lower opening of my roadster with AN-10 connections. Since I have a SBF, no real need for an engine oil cooler but I love the oil cooler look. Since I really didn't want a "fake" or non functional cooler there, this worked out perfectly.

After twenty years, I recently installed a power steering kit from LMR, but the kit did not include a cooler. I purchased this item from O'Reilly's. It is small and I had to fabricate a bracket that I mounted on the engine-side of the "X" frame in front of the engine in my Gen 1 Type 65.
