I see these installed by a quite a few builders but I am still not sure of the purpose and what exactly they accomplish.
hopefully someone will confirm, but when I talked to Mark at Breeze he said the Mk3 had problems with bump steer that this bushing helped. they are not necessary with the Mk4, but sometimes the steering rack is positioned a smidge to close and the tie rods interfere with the chassis. the bushings can offer some spacing if that is an issue, otherwise not needed on a Mk4

I’m not sure what exactly they remedy with the MKIVs in terms of bump steer, but I will say they made the rack install effortless.
+1 I also used them on my build, all I know is the steering is dead on with zero bump steer. If I were building another car I would install them again.

What Mark said is my experience as well. I installed on the Mk3 I built and worked as advertised. Installed on the first Mk4 I built and wasn't sure of the advantage. Didn't install on the second Mk4 (20th Anniversary) and it was fine. Rack installed OK and zero bump steer issues. What changed? Factory Five addressed the off-center mounting on the Mk3. Most builders are now using the 2-piece FF spindles (vs. donor) and racks with extenders. This virtually eliminates all bump steer. So, install the Breeze parts if you want. They don't hurt anything. But in my experience not necessary.
