Mods, apologies & please close if this isn't allowed.
I'm trying to find a good 5mt center diff for my wagon & thought the FFR forum would be the perfect place to ask. After all, the center diff is eliminated in the 818 & it looks like there are a bunch of guys w/ donors already.
Looking to spend $150 shipped. Fyi the unit fits in a $12 USPS flat-rate box.

I hope you find what you are looking for.
This post is interesting in that it foretells what is likely to come. We've all been thinking we'd have to place ads and find buyers for the donor parts we don't use. But it looks like the Subie crowd is going to be well aware of what parts those are and come looking for them here. This can only be good for both groups.
I foresee a For Sale/Parts Wanted area of the forum specifically for leftover 818 donor parts sometime in the future.

Yup, we currently own 3 Subarus, thus my excitement for the 818. The wrx drivetrain is grin-inducing to say the least, but handling and braking are miles from the same level of fun as our s2000. Imo if the 818 combines the WRX power w/ s2k handling it will be worth the effort.
I think the other ffr models have wtb & FS sections so it should happen here eventually.
Btw - this won't effect storage of a donor trans - the xfer case housing goes right back on w/o a center diff inside!

Wow, doesn't anyone in the community want to make a little money back on their donor?

Probably 99% of the people don't have a donor yet as we don't even know what all parts we're going to need and which vehicles we can use for donors.
The people that do have the donor car now are probably still driving them around since there is no kit available to buy yet.
You're asking for parts too soon.

Obvious post is obvious. That's why I don't come here much. I have to wade through 15 pages of armchair engineers waxing philosophical to get to something worthwhile from the FFR team. Furthermore, I'd say that it's quite clear that a center diff would not be used in what is essentially a fwd-converted transmission.
Maybe I didn't see your post there, but when I posted a pic of my WRX in he donor thread I noticed there were a few guys with wrecked WRXs that I thought may be interested in making some $.
I ended up sourcing 2 center diffs locally. Close this thread and email me when the car is in production.

please keep that sort of posting reserved for NASIOC
this isn't that kind of forum
I can see in the future this'll be one of downsides to the 818 crowd

You didn't need to make a smart comment in this thread and I called you on it. Maybe if someone had done that to the updates from Dave thread it wouldn't be 30 pages with 10 posts from Dave.
I certainly appreciate he enthusiasm around here but just posting to be heard is rampant here.
Feel free to post away here. I'm done...

dude if you think his comment was "smart" then you have a terrible perception of reality. his comment was plan and simple fact, and was presented in no way as being rude, while your comments back were terribly rude. there is just no need for that.
