Looking to build a car and am looking to connect with an owners group in Northern New Jersey if there is one, I'm located in Englewood, near the GW Bridge. I'm tall and interested to see if or how comfortably I'd fit in the roadster version. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew, how tall are you? I'm almost 6'6" and 300+ and I was able to make it fit with some simple mods. Seat selection, pedal selection (MKIII) and a few other minor tweeks made for a glove-like but comfortable fit.

Yikes, I'm in northern Jersey and my name is Andrew too. Hah.

We have a great group that meets up on the 2nd Sunday of every month at the Chester Diner, on Route 206 about 100 meters south of Main Street in Chester. I always put a post in the Northeast section of this forum (I know you're new, so if you click "forum" at the top, you'll see a list of subforums, NE is among them.)

We had four Roadsters show up for the January breakfast, believe it or not, in 35° weather. We get anywhere from a dozen to 40 for breakfast every month. January was 24 people. In the summer, on a nice day, we might get a dozen Roadsters. Not mine, quite yet, I'm doing bodywork.

We really help each other out a lot in this group, that is how it started actually. Stop by and introduce yourself. Watch the NE subforum for more info.

Sorry I'm not in your neck of rthe woods but I did want to comment on the fit of a roadster. I am 6' and 205. I had trouble with the driver footbox so I did a common mod by moving the crash bar forward as possible while still fitting inside the existing alum panels. Now I have too much left foot room and need a dead pedal. I have 32 in pant length. I have a MkIII so now the MkIV has that feature built in with bigger footbox. You will probably want to try both versions out when you get a chance. I also put my seats on adjustable runners to raise them 1.5 in. They will move forward for a shorter person but I use it all the way back. The raised seat makes your legs feel more comfortable.

I would not have guessed that Dave would fit in a roadster but I have seen pictures. The other thing is getting in and out of the roadster. I hang my big foot every time but that is the only "hangup". I would love to see how Dave gets in and out. So in summary, a Wookie fits in a roadster and you should to with a little effort. Good luck on your search, WEK.
