Anyone interested in a GEN 1 stage 1 hotrod?
This kit is 10 years old and has only had the front suspension installed. Here is a list of options that were added to the stage 1 kit
Powder coated chassis
IRS
IRS completion package
IRS brakes
Chrome tilt column
Everything appears to be there new in the boxes
Comes with assembly manual COO and packing list.
This kit would be nearly $20,000.00 today
Asking $8000.00
Located in Norton, MA
Thanks Mike

Hmm that would be an interesting way of getting IRS into my car.

Just to be clear, this is without stage 2 and body, correct?

Hi Mike,
Will the Generation 1 chassis accept the latest bodies, ie, Truck or Roadster Stage 2 kits? I see another chassis (Gen 2) listed here as well. Are the bodies interchangible between Gen 1 and Gen 2?
I've put about 18K miles on the car you sold me. I've learned quite a bit since 2009!
Thanks,
Tom Veale

Yes, a Gen 2 body can be put on a gen 1 chassis. A couple of the guys have done this.
Some things of note - you need to cut out the foward part of the door sill area to allow the gen 1 frame to come all the way up (it doesn't dip in the front like gen 2). You also need to use the door frame, striker mounts etc from the gen 1 because the striker location on gen 1 is different than gen 2 - so use all gen 1 mechanical door bits (yes they fit into a gen 2 door).

There may be one or two other minor things but that's the major parts from what I recall...

Thanks Steve,
This gives me something to consider. IRS wasn't yet available when I bought #007 from Mike back in 2009.
Over the years, I've looked for other possible bodies to see if I could find something exotic to put on FFR's fantastic chassis. This has those wheels turning again.

Best wishes,
Tom
