DS Footbox Outboard Carpet Pieces

Hello, does anyone have a photo or can explain in detail how you installed the two carpet pieces that go on the DS footbox outboard panel? It's a newer MK4 so it has the bump out.

I can't figure it out. Thank you!

Below are a pair of pictures I took when assembling my outer panel. One piece inside the "bump" and then the second piece along the back that also takes up the "step" between the two. first pic is the "bump" piece only, then second picture shows how I used a 2x4 to secure the second piece in place. Hope this helps, didn't have a lot of good pictures of this.
