For the rough edges on the aluminum sheet metal pieces that come in our kits, rather than using a file to clean them up use the end flutes on a decent-sized drill bit as a makeshift de-burring tool.

I just tried it now and it makes short work of an otherwise time consuming task.

Yes, this is an old machinist's trick that still works. However, for about $US11 you can get one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004T828/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 (another thing I learned from an old machinist). It works really well on all kinds of metal, and particularly well on deburring tubing.
