I installed a new clutch & pressure plate and discovered my old clutch cable was too short and not adjustable at the clutch fork (the firewall adjuster is cranked all the way in). I ordered a new Ford adjustable clutch cable # M-7553-C302.

Should I grease/lubricate it before installing? (any suggestions for getting grease down the cable??)
What is the proper way to adjust it? (I adjusted my old one by feel, but wanted to ask for proper adjustment recommendations)

Mark, no need to.

The cable has like a plastic Teflon insert, or interior to the cable. So, of you were to lubricate with a petroleum type lubricant, it would probably gum it up. No lube is needed to my knowledge.

Thanks Rich & Tim! Didn't think so, but wanted to confirm before I install it.
