I'm routing my battery, alternator, starter cables (see pic) but was wondering whether running them outside the frame rails would be too close to the headers/collectors. I don't think so, but thought I'd ask those with more experience than myself. I can route them inboard the frame rail if needed. Custom making all cables and really want it to look tidy. Thanks!

that is pretty close to how I routed mine, no issues. headers have decent clearance from the frame tubes. I have a bpe 347 with long headers

Same as JJK. Personally, I’d put a few more wire clamps to secure it all firmly and add some high temp loom. I like this from McMaster Carr

Agreed, I have mine in a high temp loom as well.

Will do, thanks for the suggestion. I keep wanting to organize and loom my wires but then always have one more thing to add or re-route and end up undoing it. Forcing myself not to tape or loom anything until its finished...but organizing wires is probably the most enjoyable part of the wiring process!

I've really enjoyed your build threads, cv2065, and have copied more than one aspect of your builds for mine. I can't remember which ones off the top of my head...but I know I've spent a good amount of time reading your posts and threads and they've been really helpful!

Glad it's been helpful. I'm trying to stay on top of this current one. :)

Looks like you have some good answers here but wanted to chime in as well. I also ran mine along that area but, like others have alluded to, had a few more connection points and ultimately put everything in a high-temperature loom just for extra protection from the exhaust and the like.

As for what goes in it, my build thread has a schematic showing everything I found necessary to include in that loom (assuming you have a battery disconnect in the cockpit). May be helpful.
