I have wanted to build a Cobra for over 30 years; specifically, since the mid-90s a factory Five. Increasing in frequency during the last several years - I would order a FFR catalog/DVD, only to obsess over it like a Playboy magazine and throw it away to stop the madness. This cycle got worse and worse only until my wife pushed me over the edge during December 2011 when I ordered a Mark 4. When Stewart Transportation arrive, it was amongst one of the best days in my life...amongst...

I was very intimidated by the build and honestly by the skill level and experience of those that published posts and preceded me on the FFR Forum. It is because of the Forum and FFR's customer support that I am realizing my own personal dream.

I truly believe FFR is not financially motivated, but rather an honest company that help people realize their dreams. Between their customer support and the advice from the Forum, are the sole reasons I am where I am at with this build.

Here is just a couple of pics to show overall where I am at. I do this to encourage those that are spooked by the undertaking so that they know that there are folks that truly love this and will talk as long as you care to about building such a fine car: 7583758475857586

I think you expressed what a lot of us have felt over the years of lusting over this mistress. My interest started before some of these younger members knew what the car was all about or even saw an original on the road. My wife was the trigger to push me to finally do it this last October. It is one of the high points of my life and am enjoying it to the max. I'm near time to drop the engine and tranny in. You have some great build pics and hope you keep us up to date. Nick C

Not only do we like to help you out, it is a bunch of fun to spend someone elses money. :) I think that is what makes this community so special. Not a bunch of egos running around putting others down. Just a like minded group of people helping each other out with the intention of seeing their dreams realized. Great progress by the way. Keep us posted on your progress.

I was the same as you, it took my girlfriend to finally convince me to take the plunge. I've never looked back. Had an incredible time building it and am having an incredible time driving it. Keep us posted and like has been said before; anything we can do...

The axle was a short fox body that I converted to 5-lug and have new Cobra discs with 3:55 Ford Racing Gears. I also had it powdercoated a gray hammercoat as well as the third link support bar. What I like so much about the Forum is getting ideas for fabricating additional parts; did this with my firewall support and also created a dead-pedal. I like to use Herculiner for sound deadening and protections against rock chips (also did it on the bottom of the frame rail for jacking points on all four corners. I used a spray on bedliner coating for the rear of my bulkhead where I am installing marine grade speakers for additional sound deadening/rigidity.

Again, thanks for all the great ideas and support.

I got my MkI from the builder in 05 and totaled it in 07. Thought about something else for a minute or two and then thought about all the friends I'd made in 2 years. 'Something else' would mean I would inevitably lose those friends sooner or later. 2 months later i got a MkII from it's builder. 5 more REALLY fun years and I haven't looked back. Thanks FFR!!
