I'd like to clarify the install of the FF overflow tank. Does the upper mount bolt on to the frame like the brake reservoirs? There are additional spacers included in the box but the pictures I've found are a bit vague. Thanks all!

Yes the FFR overflow tank mounts to the 3/4 frame tubes. NOTE: Very important. Make sure it will clear your altinator. I thought I did. I moved it several inches fowrard and it still was not enough. I ended up with 3/8" clearance, not enough! Fortunatly I'm using an FE expansion tank so I just removed the overflow tank completely. Check out F500guy's build thread. I believe he used a Canton tank bolted to the F panel. Clears the altinator just fine.

Thanks Rebostar! Good point about the alternator. Fortunately I’m running a BPE 347 and it clears fine. Thanks for the pic.

Rebostar, is that an original tank or aftermarket? Is this on a SBF? (how did you mount to the thermo housing??)

MPTech. That is an origonal FE tank. I picked up a couple on C-List. I also found one at a swap meet. Check out my build thread to see how I did the mod. I cut out a section of the 90' brass 1.5" tube and replaced it with a flex elbow I picked up at NAPA. I used a Canton 80-026 thermostat housing that bolts to SBF Weiand intake manifold. I had to modify the origonal bracket to use an additional support I made after removing the brass elbow.

Thanks Rebostar! I really like that look. May have to commit to that for a winter project.
