The guy who said he’d never track his car did it – again

Yes, I just completed my SECOND track day. And I’m the one who said I’d never track my car. It was great. Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL. I went with John and Carl and we had a great time. John, (driveslikejehu) has an 818R and Carl has a Honda. They went in the intermediate group; I was – clearly – novice. The weather was perfect, the track was well run and the participants were reasonable. The car ran extremely well.

I was probably the slowest driver in the group, but so what! My instructor took me out in his Miata and it was eye-opening. I saw what he could do in his Mazda, and I’m pretty sure my roadster is as least as capable. Certainly, my car is way more capable than this newbie, and I’d rather not abuse the tires, brakes and suspension. The 914 in front of me had an LS installed in it. It was pretty crazy.
