I have been following the forum for about 9 months now and I am finally making my first post. I’m originally from New York, but joining the Navy after high school moved me around the country quite a bit (Orlando, back to NY, Hawaii.) After I got out, I moved to Oregon and now I am in Southeastern Michigan. I am planning on ordering my kit sometime this summer. I still have some things to take care of first, like finishing my planning and selling my Harley. My wife never wanted to ride the bike with me and one day I came home and said “I should sell the bike and build a kit car.” I expected her to laugh at me, but she thought it was a great idea. Something the two of us could enjoy.
I was a Chevy guy in my younger days. I had a '70 Camaro SS that I loved to work on. One of my fondest memories is firing it up after rebuilding the engine, but it was a daily driver in NY and Hawaii and I got tired of fighting rust.
I went to visit Factory Five last summer and took the tour with Dave. I was very impressed with the whole setup and how nice everyone was. From what I have seen, everyone on the forum is very supportive and willing to help too, which I am sure will come in handy during the remainder of my planning as well as during the build.
I signed up for the build school that starts March 2nd and I am really looking forward to getting this challenge started!
