It’s motor install day today. We are down to the last of it but can’t seem to line up the driver side mount pin.

Any tips? Everything else so far has been great.

Don’t know if you did this but leave all of the bolts loose, including engine mount to engine and this gave me enough slop to get all of the mountings correctly aligned.

second what Steve said, mine was tight and I had to go back and loosen them to get the pin in. Both sides the pin is at max travel. Also, not sure what block you have but I had to grind the bosses a bit on the block and the motor mount a bit to get it to sit correctly

In addition to loosening the bolts, I had to use a crowbar to “help” the motor mount to drop in.

All great tips. Got it in finally! Back to work tomorrow. Thank you all for the help.

Here’s a question—there is an eyelet sticking out of the transmission that buts up against the parking brake mount. What is this for? May interfere with the transmission mount lining up.

There are mounting bosses on the side, I cut the one off that was hitting that area. here is a picture of mine. I got a really long blade for my saws all and hacked it in place.

Perfect. That’s what I’ll do. Thank you!

For any others reading this I have often used a piece 2x4 or 1x4 maybe 2-3ft long. get as close as you can and usually the bottom plate of the rubber mount won't quite slide down far enough. Get your piece of wood and a small sledge and wack it. The important thing is that you only hit the bottom steel plate of the mount.

When I cut off that boss hitting the e-brake bracket it dropped right in.

Is it just me or is the forward-most reservoir too far forward? As in it will be in the way of the hood's gas spring. I could easily be wrong.

Ok, that’s a good question. Here is a side shot. Do I have an issue? I’m glad you said something—when I get home I’ll have to double check.

IIRC you have about 12" from the hinge mount before it interferes w/ the reservoirs.

13" forward from the front wall of the footbox is about as far as you can go.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a damp blanket. I know putting the engine in is a nice milestone. I just figured if that reservoir's location is an issue, the sooner you know the better.

Not a big problem in the big picture. Glad I have the information now…. In the case I have to redesign, is there an alternate location for the clutch reservoir? I may be able to move it back a couple of inches but if I can’t I’ll have to have an alternate plan. Thank you all for the help.

You can fit all three in a row, they just have to be pretty close together. I see it all the time.

as jeff said, if you stagger the clamps, you can get all 3 in a smaller footprint

Thank you. Just curious, if I manufacture a bracket for the reservoirs with angle aluminum, how far outside of the frame can the mount protrude? Or do I have to make it flush with the frame?

I just used flat plate and powder coated it. Middle reservoir is offset higher than the outer 2 and they overlap. They can all be set to the same height., slightly below the frame. I used nutserts on the frame so it can be removed if needed. Whole piece is not much bigger than the F5 piece.

Yep, found a similar thread topic and was happy to see the same setup. Glad it’s not a costly fix. Appreciate the response.

Follow up: I fabricated a new steel mount and staggered the reservoirs. Happy to hear any further constructive criticism. Thanks for the help, all.

J.K. & egchewy79 Thanks for the tip, I had to move my front resivoir back behind the rear one, and lower my E-Powersteering control box down 2" to allow for that left hood rod. Below are the before and after pics. Thanks again.
