Folks,

I am starting to stage my fuel system. I checked the box when I got the kit delivered. I just pulled it off the shelf and put the gas tank on the assembly table. I went to throw out the box and then reconsidered because I can use it as a floor mat for when I change oil. So, I was breaking down the box and I popped the flaps. Imagine my surprise to find two o-ring gaskets taped to the flap. That really puzzled me and then I noticed the following text on one of the flaps:

"Not all fuel tanks come with a lock ring/o-ring kit. If the tank comes with a lock ring/o-ring kit you will find it in one of the flaps of the box. Please check flaps on both ends of the box."

I suppose that makes sense if you are pay attention to the lettering on the boxes. That said, the only reason I noticed it was because I was breaking down the box. I suspect a few people have thrown these away by mistake. Something to look for...

I thought they all came with that? Those are for your sending unit and fuel pump. Just make sure lube the o rings up with a dab of silicone lubricant.

DO NOT use silicone. FORD recommends to use motor oil.
