Once again, it's necessary to publicly display my lack of knowledge for electrical circuits. This question involves the clutch pedal safety switch. In the wiring manual it shows which connectors to use for the brake pedal and which ones to use for the clutch pedal (see pic #1). In reading, I assumed one is for normally open (circuit is open when spring loaded switch is NOT engaged) and the other is for normally closed circuits (circuit closed with spring loaded switch is NOT engaged). However, after install, the drawing for the clutch pedal seems backwards. Shouldn't it be the same as the brake pedal, where the circuit is completed only when pedal is depressed for both brake and clutch pedal? (see pic #2) Anytime my logic contradicts how I interpret the instructions, it's time to ask silly questions.

You are correct. they need to be wired the same. press brake and lights come on. Press clutch and car starts.

That's how I have it. Just couldn't figure out why instructions had it differently. Thank you Mike for your reply!!!!

I had the same issue. The manual is wrong.

yeah, if you go to the build school, they teach that. BTW, if you're installing a Coyote, this switch is moot, you'll install the ford switch which goes to the PCM.

Or just take it apart and you’ll see exactly how it works. Just unclip the top of it.

So, Factory Five actually teach in the build school that the manual is wrong? I guess they haven't thought about correcting the manual.
