Today I had the most amazing luck . I went to my local Christian Brothers for the ASE certification. It went very smoothly. No problems with the car except driver side tie rod has to be tightened a little better. I remember when I installed it (long time ago) that I had to back the nut off just a little to get the cotter pin through the castle nut. I will have to go back and install a washer to get things lined up just right. Other than that no issues. They certified it said everything looked great. Next up was the TxDmv to get my letter from the RSC stating that my vehicle is eligible for title and registration and that I had all necessary paper work. That also went well. I was in and out of there in 30min or less. Finally I could go to the local county tax office with all the paperwork and submit the application for title and plates. They were really great about the situation and they rarely see these things come through there. Just a slight technical issue with their computer and also the clerk had to ask questions to the supervisor for some of it. Basically no problems, just took some patience. That part was 1 1/2 hours, walked out of there with my paper tags and window sticker. Custom vehicle plates will arrive in about 4 weeks. What an awesome day. I told people a lot of things had to go flawlessly but it was possible that I could have my car on the road today.

This was the first time on the open road other than my little neighborhood street. I was pretty confident of the road worthiness. So nice to drive it out there now without worrying about being pulled over for not being legal. It was at least 98 degrees outside, pretty steamy for an open top car. The heat didn't bother me at all with the excitement of driving it. My years of driving a hot axx mail truck got me acclimated for this.

I patiently await for Jeff to do his magic.
