I installed the silver adapter ring to my QT rm-6060 bellhousing so it would fit to my tkx transmission. My question is, do I check the bellhousing alignment with this ring on, or off. Got of the phone with Holley/QuickTime and they didn't know, lol201057

You can leave it off to check. All your doing is checking the concentricity of the crank to the bell opening.

You don't want the input shaft out of concentricity by more than .005 total runout because they use a tapered roller bearing in the input shafts of Tremec transmissions. They don't flop around like a ball bearing input shaft.

For gits and shiggles, check the runout with it in place, and then again with it removed. But, I don't suspect that ring centers the input shaft as much as the bellhousing orientation itself does.

Thank you gentlemen. The ring has grooves on it so I wasn't able to calibrate it to 0 correctly

It shouldn’t make a difference, and probably easier to do it with the ring off. To make sure the ring doesn’t introduce eccentricity, you can measure its thickness with a caliper at 12 o’clock, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. It should be the same thickness at all four places. If the ring is thicker in one area, it’s defective.
