Just replaced my second power steering rack. The first rack I received with the kit leaked on the driver side. Coming out of the boot. After installing the replacement rack from FFR it is leaking in the same place.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Should I ask for another rack from FFR or purchase one?? What would I purchase?

I had the same issue with a leaking rack on the driver's side (failed after a few go-kart rides). FFR sent me a new rack and it has been problem free, but I only have 1100 miles on it. If the rack failed again, my plan was to replace it with something else. I believe Unisteer makes a suitable rack, don't know the part number. There are several threads out there that have a lot of details and part recommendations on replacement racks.

I went with Unisteer and am very happy. More expensive than the auto parts chain stores, but there are two distinct advantages. First, quality: the stores managers I had dealt with (trying to get a rack with a specific steering ratio) conceded that quality "has been a problem sometimes....it's hit or miss". The second reason (and I beat this drum regularly on here) is that the major suppliers now have an "it also fits" policy. There are actually TWO steering ratios available in the power racks.....and these distributors LIST TWO DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS. But what you order, specifically, you may or may not get. I had several calls with the front office at BBB (O'Reily's supplier) and they admitted it to me saying they "didn't care". When I called Unisteer and they were aware of the problem at other distributors but assured me "you will get the ratio that you request" and I did. I wanted the slower ratio (power rack for 4-cylinder Mustang) and that's what they sent me....and it has been trouble free.
