Hi. Two of my bleeder valves are leaking from the threads, slowly. After completing the brake bleed I snug them a little, definitely not too tight.

I noticed the small leak after 24 hours after I pushed on the brake. I tighten a little more. This process repeated three more times. I'm at the point where tightening them more would require a lot of force.

What are my options? Keep tightening? Thread sealant? Replace the bleeder valves? If I need to tap the hole, what size do I need?

Edit: post below with brake info

Thank you for your advice!

What's your brake setup? Stock brakes, Wilwood, etc?

Maybe not what you want to hear, but I always use Russell "speed bleeders" these are One man bleeder screws. The way to tell they are different is that they have sealer on the threads. I live by myself and buy them for the ball and spring check valve inside them. It lets air and fluid out buy doesn't let air back in.

13” rotors and calipers all around from 1998 Mustang Cobra for front and 2019 Mustang GT for rear.

Factory bleeders do not seal on the threads. The end of the bleeder has a conical face that seals, metal to metal.
You could have trash on the sealing face.
I cannot relate to what you feel is tight or too tight. By your description, I suspect you are fearful of breaking off the bleeder screw valve.
Use a 6 sided box end wrench or socket.
By removing the bleeder and looking at the sealing face you should be able to see the contact area.
It should be a complete circle around the face.
I would remove the bleeder, re install and tighten.

+1 what railroad said; that is kinda worrying. like you have the wrong bleeder valves in there. Two leaks make it sound like dirt is not the issue.

thread sealant isn't the answer, for sure. If these weren't newly bought by you, try buying new bleeders - who knows what was put in there.

Thank you, gents. I will try cleaning off the bleeder valves I have and the hole. If it's still leaking, then I will try new bleeders.
