View Full Version : How far below the 3/4" tube is far enough for the remote hydraulic reservoirs?

Hey Y'All,

I'm looking for some guidance on the mounting location for the remote hydraulic reservoirs...

I'm using the FFR-supplied parts, and I'm mounting to the Driver's side top 3/4" tube that goes underneath the body right at the hood opening.

Others have told me that they need to be lower than that tube, but I'm not sure by how much. My crude measurements make me believe that having the top part of the reservoir cap right at the bottom of the 3/4" tube is enough. Right now I'm at about 1/2" from the top pf that tube. Is that enough?

Here's a picture 200703

As always, your feedback is appreciated!

Thanks,
Craig C

Lower than the top of the tube will be fine. You appear to be far enough rearward that interference with the hood hinge gas cylinder won't be an issue.

If anything they may be a tad too close to the firewall. Before finalizing, check to be sure your hoses will route through the firewall (assuming there will be a grommet there as well) to point at the attachments on each reservoir and not need any additional space to make bends to do so. If going with 90-degree fittings off each reservoir, you could be okay as is.

Those look fine to me. As stated earlier, make sure you have room to run the brake lines.

here are mine.

Thanks! I noticed that, too :) It's funny how a lot of these decisions are already made (due to the space limitations involved)...

I appreciate your feedback!

Thanks CDXXVII !

By the way, I have saved your picture since it is such an inspiration for a very tidy engine bay  Very Nice!!
