My MK1 has been on the road now 24 years and the paint is junk with cracks and chips. I have tried to touch it up the best I could but the time has come I think to tear it all down and give it a cheap and cheerful garage special.
The question is, there are so many options for a do it yourself painter that it is daunting. Also daunting is the basic $10,000 Pro paint job for one of these cars.
I have looked at the Automotive Touchup website that can match the body and stripes codes. I have also looked at Tamco products but they do not have my paint but versions of it. My car is purple with silver stripes.
Is Featherfill also a filler and primer to spray the base coat over?
What products would you guys recommend?
