Well I wanted to go with a crate gen3 with a TKX - problem is, well, there aren't many if ANY Gen3 crate motors left out there.
I DID find an option, but they will ONLY sell it with a T56, and not a TKX. Yes, I know the T56 is likely a "better" transmission, but it's also larger - and I'm not sure it will fit - or if FFR even has a driveshaft for that application? I'm thinking that the answer is yes to both, but I've not been able to find a lot of info......
Any input on this option?
It's down to that, or a 427 setup..... I'm so torn!

I personally haven't done it, but multiple references on here that a T56 will fit in a Roadster if IRS. Reason is the driveshaft ends up being very short. Since the diff doesn't move on an IRS setup, that's OK. A Coyote is actually slightly shorter than your typical SBF, so that helps a little. Expect to do a couple of minor mods with the T56 for an interference point or two. Also maybe some work with the transmission mount. But apparently no big deal. I have a Gen 3 Coyote and T56 in my Coupe. Very happy with the combo.

I have done it in a Cobra but only with IRS. Cant speak for it with a straight axle? Funny how you can buy a drivetrain package from some sites but not a Coyote. I recently bought a package from Summit. Thye had 2 in stock. Another fellow builder bought the other one. Price was right too.

Or get the Gen 3 package and swap the transmission, if space is a problem.

I have a Gen2 Coyote + T56 in MK4. I believe the Gen3 fit is the same as Gen2 but perhaps others can confirm. As mentioned, there are some things you need to do to make it fit. Here's the items I documented:
T56 will only work w/ IRS rear end
Cut out the stock e-brake mounting bracket on the PS of the tunnel --> it will interfere w/ the T56 body
Relocate parking brake to top of trans tunnel, or go with electronic parking brake and completely remove the handle (something like e-stopp); will need to shorten e-brake cable length for new location
For my build, to get the driveline angles correct, I had to remove one of the spacers on the FFR Coyote transmission mount (see my build thread for details)
You will need the short driveshaft, FFR #16038 - ROADSTER 31 SPLINE 8.375" DRIVESHAFT
Depending on which version of the A-frame you have, you may need to modify it. I had an older one and it interferes w/ the T56 body so had to modify it (details in my thread). FFR changed the design around the time the TKX came out so if yours is from ~2020 or older, you will need to modify it most likely.
Go with a LS3 and a TKX. About the size of a 302, the power of a Coyote, lighter than either.
