I'm stumped. I've checked and rechecked my wiring over and over but I still have a lighting problem. When the ididot column is moved to right turn the RR flashes along with both the fronts. When the left is used the LF flashes along with both rear lights. I must be missing something but I can't see what.

Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks Lewis

I'm assuming you have the kit supplied Ron Francis harness. With the Ididit column, the wiring situation is simpler than the "regular" wiring since it uses the Hot Rod connector plug-in. In theory, the turn signals, hazards, and horn wiring should be complete at that end. To start troubleshooting, I'd suggest the following: First, be absolutely certain the "regular" turn signal and hazard wires in the harness are isolated and insulated from any other wires. They are still live. The build manual mentions this. Second, trace and double check your wires to the front and rear LED light fixtures. Make sure exactly per the manual. Again, assuming you use what came with the kit. My guess is somewhere in there is your issue.

There should be a paragraph in the manual that has you cut a wire loose from the terminals that plug into the toggle switch used in the roadster for the directionals. Also, the connector on the column has more positions than the connector in the RF harness, make sure you aren't off by a position.

Update: Yes everything is with RF harness and stock LED lights. The column plug is correct, it has a locking tab that can only go one way.
The dash harness is unplugged except for the headlight dimmer switch. Headlights and taillights work as they should off the switches. Brakelights work correctly.

I unplugged the column harness and with jumpers to, both front and rear, right and left sides independently, to the turn power feed on the connector everything works as it should.

Seems to be leading to a problem in the column?

I checked my truck build manual, and the wiring caution it has are pages 248-249. Yours may not be exactly the same pages:

Cut the horn wire back and tape the end so that it will not ground out and make the horn go off once they are connected.
Cut the (pink) hazard wire back and tape the end so that it will not ground out and pop the brake fuse.
Cut the yellow and white rear turn signal light wires off the turn signal connectors that are for the dash turn signal switch so that the turn signal lights do not back feed and light the front turn signals when the brakes are pressed.

Those are the references I was referring to. Perhaps that last item is your issue? Should be done regardless of course. My Ididit column did have an issue with the GM turn signal switch it contains and I had to replace it. But the symtoms you're describing are different. There's also an electronic module in there but I don't know anything about it and how serviceable it is. If that's the problem, expect you would have to return the column. But my guess remains some kind of wiring issue vs. a component failure.

I just rechecked that, it has been done and isn't it all in the dash wiring that I don't have plugged in?

Anymore suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Correct. As long as you don't have the dash harnesses plugged into the main harness, those adjustments described in the truck build manual aren't in play. They will be once you do plug in the harnesses. But agreed not now.

Sorry, I don't have any more suggestions. Hope you get it sorted out.

Problem solved. With the turn signal switch in neutral it showed continuity from the brake feed to the left front turn wire ( that ain't right ). So after sending some photos of my test, iDidit sent me a new switch and all is well.

Thanks Josh of iDidit and all that tried to help.
