I had to disconnect the battery to do some electrical work on my MKIV. Will I need to recalibrate the speedometer? I could not find an answer to this on the Autometer website.

No, the calibration isn't lost when you disconnect power. I assume it's in the same permanent memory as the odometer.

Agreed. I have disconned the battery many times and the ODO never lost its brain.
