View Full Version : Clutch cable attachment on Coyote with TKX

Hello!

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to attach the clutch cable to the clutch fork on my Gen 3 Coyote with the TKX.
It seems like it should be simple, but the threaded end with the bolt and lock bolt just does not fit.
What am I missing here? Something, that's for sure.
The manual instructions are very vague.
And while we are talking about it, the routing of the cable from the foot box seems to work better on the outside of the steering shaft, but in the manual on page 229, it suggests routing it closer to the engine.
Thoughts on this?

Hard to tell from the pics but cable routing is important. Also looks like where it feeds through the firewall isn’t seated correctly?

What's happening here? You have a hydraulic slave cylinder suggesting a hydraulic actuated clutch. But you're still trying to run a cable? You don't need both. The obstruction on the clutch fork is the mount for the hydraulic slave cylinder. One of the two isn't needed.

Dang, I missed that! Paul is correct.

So either take the slave cylinder off the transmission or put a master in the Wilwood pedal and run a hydraulic hose, either will work. Have you done the mod on the clutch pedal to use a cable? It works fine, that is what I have but really the Wilwood pedal box is designed for a hydraulic clutch.

Okay, did some more research. Clearly I am new to this and just stumbling along trying to follow the manual, which does not apply here.
Are there any instructions from FFR for setting up the hydraulic clutch? I can't seem to find any.

Aha! Indeed, I am an amateur at this. Thank you for pointing out the obvious to a newbie.
Found all the parts but still lacking any instructions for installation, including installing the reservoir position etc.
Searching the forum now.
